John Cowpland is an award winning photographer with over 15 years of professional experience. After learning his "trade" in the airforce John left to pursue a career as a press photographer. This lead to him working at the Levin Chronicle where he picked up his first major award, the Qantas award for best single picture by a junior. After a move to Napier to join the Daily Telegraph John again secured a major award, the Qantas Photographer of the Year in 1998. After a stint as Deputy Chief photographer at Hawkes Bay Today, John left to start  life as a freelance photographer. Since that time things have steadily grown, so has the client list, which now includes major national newspapers and agencies. John is also very proud to be the offical photographer to Hawkes Bay United and Sports Hawkes Bay.   Let John use his years of experience to provide you with the images you need, within your budget and on time!
